EuroHyPerCon discusses status of HPC connectivity study at EuroHPC Summit 2024

EuroHyPerCon proudly joined the discussion on Interconnecting EuroHPC Supercomputers for Scientific and Industrial Advancement that took place on 20 March 2024 as a parallel workshop (under the same name) at the EuroHPC Summit 2024.

Fotis Karayannis, EuroHyPerCon coordinator, presented the scope of the Study as well as the results of the first stage, the mapping of stakeholders and the gathering of connectivity data, needs and insights. He also presented the premises of the current analysis exercise, which mainly aims to tο aggregate the bandwidth needs for the data transferred across Europe for HPC needs and to develop projections for the following 5-year period and for 2030+.

During the panel discussion Vassilis Merekoulias had the chance to answer more questions on the Study and provide insights regarding the issues that came forward during the data gathering phase.
